Next time you hear a civilian complaining about Military retirement pay after 20 years be sure to retell Jeff White's story to them. I have many times had to explain how much damage the body of a soldier takes from weight bearing, mental stress, lack of sleep, exposure to disease, etc. and how it causes lifetime injuries small and great to soldiers who never fired a shot in combat.

In open desert and desert mountains, I'd want the M14. In the jungle, or in city house to house fighting, the M16. But, I like wood and metal, so I voted M14 just because...
