I'm working on a 3D modeling project, one the items I'm doing an ultra-high detailed versions of the M1911. I was wondering if some of the history-buffs on here could tell me I've got the correct (or close to correct) markings. I cannot use real gun companies or I will be eaten by copyright issues :(. BTW these models are for a video game, some of the markings are related to the game's fiction so not everything will look 'right.'

I'm posting images of the 2D prototypes for what will be the final, textured markings. Thanks. PS: Anything in Helvetica is will not be in the final model.

Thanks again all. I hope to show you the completed models one day.

Yes, they look extremely accurate, other than the fact they're totally different than the actual roll marks. Not sure what you're asking, I guess.

Doesn't look like any font I've ever seen on a rollmark. If it's supposed to be a military issued pistol in the game, then you might want something way more plain. Take a look at some real military M1911s and you'll see what I mean. And the whole 10mm "conversation" under the rollmark would probably never be on a real weapon. It would just have the proper caliber marked on the weapon somewhere. The whole "USN/USMC" part probably wouldn't be on a USGI piece either. Also, the term "Government Model" is a trademark of Colt's I'm pretty sure, so you might want to change that as well.
