The Troy MCS is pricey unless you shop around. Scored mine on gunbroker. I don't want to mention price but I built it up for over 40% less than I could if I had bought retail... optics included. The great deal(s) were what motivated me to get off the fence.
With the scope being variable from 2.5-16 and paralax adjustable from 10 yards to infinity, it should work as an in close gun to a very good medium/long range gun.
The High rings were recommended but I wanted to ensure a good cheek weld, and minimize the effects of canting the rifle. The medium height rings are almost too low. The cheek weld is very good, so I will not be changing anything there.
I am not used to having a rifle that I can change the comb so easily so I cannot quite work out the scope placement for eye relief, as the scope has a rediculously long eye relief.
The big claim to fame of the stock is taming the recoil. I do not need all the rails, hence mine are covered (no big deal). I kind of like the fact that I can replace them as I will not be sweating banging it up like I do on my rifles with nice wood stocks.
BTW: The Troy stock also makes the take down for cleaning a breeze:
