Well folks,

I'm finally getting to where I can get a M1a from SA. What I'm really wondering is if the loaded model is worth the extra amount of money.
My primary concern is the trigger. Is the national match trigger a great improvement over the standard, enough to justify the extra expense?

I suspect that I should buckle down and try to get a loaded model, but I would consider the standard model if the loaded model isn't much of an improvement for the extra price.

Thanks!

I can't speak for how much improvement there is, as I've never shot nor handled a standard M1A, at least not in recent memory. However, I have a loaded model, and I love it. The ergonomics and balance of the M1A are superb. The sights are excellent. Add the NM trigger, and no other rifle I've ever fired makes it as easy to hit as my Loaded M1A, not the AR/M16, not even custom bolt rifles. It feels as if it was made for me and has everything a rifleman appreciates for accurate shot placement. I think I paid $1300 for my Stainless Synthetic Loaded. I don't know what the basic model runs for these days, but I don't regret my purchase in the least.
