I have a Mossberg 500 and stuck on the rifled barrel to check scope zero today. The second shot, the shell stuck in the chamber when the slide came back. The first shot was fine, I have never had this problem before and this wasn't new ammo to the gun or a new box. Ammo was Hornady SST 2 3/4" Sabot.

The highly scientific resolution was to remove the barrel and pop the shell out with a knife. Not a huge problem but we didn't fire any more slugs after that.

We fired Federal Target Loads out of the shot barrel before and after this malfunction, cycled perfectly every time. All told about 20 target loads and 2 slugs in the day with one FTE.

Sounds like the higher pressure may have cause the slug hull to get just enough grip in the chamber that the extractors couldn't get the job done. I'd check the extractors first like ZHYLA said, then check the chamber for rust maybe.
