M590A1 Heat Shield?

Hello everyone! I am wondering where to buy a heat shield for my Mossberg M590A1 heavy-wall barrel shotgun. I know these exist, and are not the standard Mossberg 500/590 heat shield. I seem to recall a company called AIMPRO tactical that sold this heat shield, or there version of it.

I have also heard that Mossberg isn't selling this to the public though examples have gotten there way into civillian hands. Why is this? Is it true?

I just don't understand why it's so hard to get a factory heatshield for this shotgun. It almost makes a guy want to buy the standard 590 just to get a heat shield that fits, but then you are giving up the parkerized barrel and metal controls of the M590A1... what a dillema this is!

Can anyone help me in locating a heat shield, preferably factory made Mossberg, that will fit my M590A1 Special Purpose combat shotgun with the heavy-wall barrel?

You are correct, Aimpro Tactical does sell this model heat shield. It fits securely and works well, but has a tiny bit of side to side wiggle when installed.

Not sure if this is appropriate to post here, but I have a like-new Aimpro shield still in the packaging that I'd be happy to sell you.

Aimpro lists it for $59 + shipping, so I'd be willing to sell for $59 shipped.

I've seen guys use the factory 500/590 part. You may have to open the screw holes up, and squeeze them together, but with enough brute force, ignorance, and four letter words, it'll fit.

Just what I've heard, havent done it myself.
