Been pondering an Springfield Armory M6 Scout for a cheap, versatile truck gun.
Anyone have any experience with one? I dont expect a Sub-moa gun here but how accurate -are- they? If you have any alternative suggestions I'm open. I like the little .22 US survival rifle thing, but I'm thinking the .410 option may be the swing vote there.

I've had one for about 5 years now. It's held up very well to some pretty hard use. It rides around in a cheap, padded cordura case behind the front seat of my truck.

Considering the rudimentary sights, it's at least as accurate as most folks can hold for with ammo it likes. The .410 takes rabbits cleanly out to 30 yds or so with 3" Federal #5s, and is surprisingly effective on cardboard IDPA targets with WW "derringer" buckshot loads. Keeps them all in the "chest" out to a bit over 20 yds.

Very close to the ideal utility/camping piece, IMHO.
