Machetes for Protection.

Looking for machetes for personal protection in case this country erupts in rioting or worse. What are some good companies that make machetes? What machete blades would you recommend, that are durable and not that heavy?

guess what, as bad as things get in this country, the odds of you having to use a gun to defend yourself are microscopically small.

It's painfully obvious you don't know about self defense or weapons in general. Start small, I suggest a Buck 110 and a .22 rimfire rifle.

that right there is some good advice! pick your flavor of the .22's out there but the buck 110 is one dang fine knife. i betcha it'll see a lot more use than a machete ever will

In the case of wide-spread civil unrest I suppose there would be a breakdown of most lawn care services. A good machete could be quite critical.

But that's more of a horticulture question, not for THR.
