I have a problem with my magazine feeding. when i put more than three rounds in, the tip of the round will be lowered enough, to hit and bind in the front of the magazine when the slide comes forward, before ever getting to the ramp.

any suggestions on what the problem may be. i do not have another magazine to try, and it is and older very inexpensive gun so it's not worth taking to someone.

thanks

First thing I would suggest is that you take the mag apart and make sure the spring is in the right way.

The upward sweep of the end of the spring should face the front on any make & model of magazine.
(Match it to the forward angle of the magazine)

If it is turned around backward, it will cause the problem you have of rounds diving into the feed ramp.

it's a rg model 25 or 26( 25 cal) i know its a real cheap gun, but shoots straight for plinking. i'm just trying to figure out if i can fix the problem myself. its not worth spending any money on it .

I had the exact same problem my CZ70's mags and a couple of spares I bought. Turned out it was the springs in the mags were worn out. Replaced them with new ones from Wolff and havent had the problem since. I think it was a $7 solution if I remember right.

i've tried the spring both ways, same problem. i guess next would be to try a new or stronger spring.

i'm not sure if the stronger spring will work though. the part which pushes the shells up is about an inch long and can not tilt in the magazine. i can see the shells through the holes in the magazine. the first four are parallel to each other and the part which pushes them. the nest few roundes then begin to tilt downward at the end. once 7 are loaded, the end is so far down that you can not push it from the magazine because the end is hitting the magazine, yet the first four loaded are still parallel, so i'm not sure if the spring would make the difference.

What your describing is exactly what the CZ mags were doing. The gun would feed fine with three or four rounds in them, but anymore and it was nothing but trouble, and the upper rounds were all nose down in the mag. I put the new springs in and it ran fine from the first full mag, and ever since.

Other than the springs being in wrong, its the next cheapest fix. New mags would probably be your next step.
