After 300 rounds I noticed the magazine was releasing while firing so I brought my Taurus Millenium .40 to the gunsmith where I bought it and the spring release needed to be changed. A new one was acquired from Taurus quickly and replaced.
Anyone having similar problems?

Is that the older Millennium or a Millennium Pro. There is a difference.

That's for the PT140?
It can also be a user problem. I'm not saying that this is the case here. but after going through the Taurus archives (from another forum) many a problem had to do with the grip. People were hitting the magazine release when firing and were not aware that it was going on.

What I did find out is that there are 12 cases over 4 years of the magazine release being a problem for a PT140

There were double that for the PT145.

However once the spring was properly replaced there were no further problems. It was 100% reliability after that. That's for either model.

Weregunner, It's a Millenium Pro .40. The spring was replaced last week and it works fine now.
When I discovered the problem at the range I made an effort to keep my thumb away from the magazine release and it was having the problem. The gunsmith confirmed the problem as the spring, ordered one and replaced it.
I really like this pistol, very accurate.

Good, there's sometimes confusion as to whether it's a 24/7 pistol version or the PT140 which is a Millennium and Milleniium Pro.

The PT140 is a Millennium Pro pistol and the 24/7 is different in nomenclature.
