I just bought a bunch of the 1911 magazines (blued) that Midway had on sale and I want to put some back for future use. What is the best way to store magazines? Thanks!

I purchased some of the i-shot magazine cases, and ahve been extremely impressed. Each pouch holds 6 doublestack, or 12 single stack magazines, and can be found here: http://www.ishot-inc.com/
Its a truly excellent company, and im using two of thier range bags, in addition to the magazine cases. As far as long term storage of the magazines, Id consider wiping them down with a light coat of clp, then putting them in these cases.

I use 30 cal. and 50 cal. ammo cans with a couple desicant packs in them. You can fit a lot of 1911 mags in a 30 cal ammo can.

I've also stored rifle mags in spare wooden ammo crates. Those aren't sealed or moisture proof, but they are stackable and I buy a lot of surplus ammo so I have quite a few wooden crates laying around.

Hahaha! Ditto Prof ... mine arrived other day ... only five tho.

I intend to strip em all .. clean and remove the lube that is there .. then coat them all with Boeshield .. and make sure followers are riding free and easy .... then, into safe and next range day ....... check em all out.

Not too bad a deal eh ..... and tell ya what ... Midway as ever, gets stuff out pronto ... impressed again.

Thanks, all, for your suggestions. Chris, I especially like your procedure. I forgot that I should check them all out for reliability first! I don't have any Boeshield but do have CLP like Sapper recommended. And, Sapper, thanks for the lead on the i-shot mag cases. I'll check those out.

It may not be the "best" but I buy those blue Dillon storage boxes. Outwardly they look like the boxes for dies but lack any interior forms.

Like Chris I too clean lube and function test.
I use "Sack-Ups" , usually from Kleenbore for guns. When these become 'tattered' I use pcs cut to fit for things like mags and use cigar boxes.[ Free from a tobacco shop]

I know, not hi-tech, but simple and works.
