Magnum BP caps

Going thru my range bag I came across a tin of Winchester magnum BP #11 caps.
I do not remember specifically buying them. Can assume it may have been a accident/oversight.

When would you use magnum caps?
For pellets?

Currently only have a 1860 that uses caps. Typically I use loose 777. I have used pyrodex when the LGS was out of 777.

harder to ignite powders like pellets, pyrodex, triple 7, etc. Poor weather conditions the magnum cap is also a little extra insurance.

Yep, for harder to ignite stuff like pyrodex.

As far as I can tell the CCI/Winchester magnum caps are about as hot as current production Remington caps.
