I saw a bag of Magtech BU45D 250 grain LFN (lead flat nose) at the LGS today. I left it on the shelf, but I have two questions about them.
1) Anyone ever reloaded them with any success? A quick google search reveals they are .454 diameter which I believe is for early COLT loadings not modern firearms? My LYMAN manual states original COLT bore was .454 and modern is .451. Do I have that wrong>?
Google consensus is also for poor accuracy with these bullets.
2) I have an early 1970's Blackhawk Convertible. The jacketed bullets I have for it are .451 ACP and .452 Colt. Would I be doing something wrong to shoot .454 unjacketed lead in this firearm? There didnt seem to be any crimp cannelure or any channel in the bullet to accept lubrication.
They seemed reasonably priced at $17/100 bullet bag so I was tempted.
