I would like to thank everyone for the help, suggestions, and the website links that have finally gotten me to the point where this rifle is working the way it should!

I shot a 3/4" group at 100 yards today with my K31. This is a major success for me as my previous best group with factory loaded GP11 was 2.5" and my handloads only got down to 2.625", talk about a huge reduction in group size!

Following the accurizing tips very carefully I did the work to my rifle yesterday. Then I made up some suggested handloads of 43 grs. IMR4064 underneath a 168 gr. SMK HPBT.

Today was the big day to try her out. The proof is in that 3/4" group, I am very pleased to say the least.

Velocity spread was 26 FPS for an average velocity of 2514 FPS. The brass and primers both look great, extraction was easy, and recoil was mild, so I assume brass life will be excellent with this load.

Thanks again to all who chimed in on my previous grumblings about this rifle.

Excellent! Now, your turn to share - exactly what accurizing did you do and hos difficult was it?

Yeah let us know what you did to accurize. I'm looking into getting a K31 next week so let me know. Also if you have any recommendation on who to buy it from I would appreciate it. I've been looking at classic arms.

It just keeps getting better gang! The inherent accuracy in this rifle exceeds my abilities.

Check this out from today. The calipers are covering a 5 shot group that was .685" at 100 yards. I should have stopped at those 5! I was so excited I blew numbers 6 and 7. They are the high and low shots seen in the picture and they opened the group up to 1.70" for 7 rounds. Oh well, I'm not disappointed at all.

As far as the accurizing goes, here is the link I followed:

By following the instructions in this write up I have achieved the results posted here. I can say for sure that these accurizing tips and my long hours spent on the reloading bench and firing line have paid off in spades. Not bad for a rifle I bought for $90.00 and put a $100.00 scope on. I paid $40.00 for the scope mount, so all in all a very worthwhile $230.00 investment.

And here she is in person. Refinished by me, accurized by me, and handloaded by me. :D Not that I am overly proud or anything! Just a bit pleased at how well this thing is shooting now! Thanks again to all who offered advice on bringing out my rifles potential.
