Ran across a Mak 90 (Chinese AK) today at a pawn shop for a good price. Thinking about getting it, but want to ask some questions first.
This gun has the milled receiver. Also, is stamped "Le Banu" (importer mark). I have read on some other forums that at least SOME of the "Le Banu" guns (and possibly some others) were given a big "no-no" by the ATF due to the fact that they had a hole for an auto sear, and apparently markings for three position selector. Does this include the milled reciever guns??? Can anyone give me some identifying characteristics of these "no-no" guns??
Apparently, the ATF was able to have most of these guns recalled, but not all. This particular gun was well-built, but obviously, I don't want trouble with the ATF, and I don't want to have to torch the receiver and go find another one, either. If this is one of the "illegal" ones, I'd rather pass on it.
