I picked up a used but LNIB MAK-90 at lunch today. It was at my local shop and I got it for $240.00. It has a threaded muzzle and these notches in the rear of the reciever that look like where an underfolder stock would attach. I forget what the markings say but I know it says MAK-90 and the name of some company in CA as the importer. It has a sporter style thumbhole stock.

What I am wondering is, what can I do to it? I would love to replace the ground off bayonet lug on the gas port (where can I get one for a MAK-90?), install a real, threaded muzzle brake and an underfolder stock.

I of course want to stay legal so I need to know what all I would have to do to get it setup this way.

Thanks!

Got pics?

If it has the plugged up holes for an underfolder you got an amazing price. You can get underfolder stocks now for pretty cheap, $130 I think. For the gas block, you might want to just have a gunsmith weld up some new tabs, and file them down to the proper shape. It would be cheaper than buying a new gas block and having it installed.

I don't have any pics but I can get some up tonight. I was hoping I got a good deal. Where can I get the underfolder stock?

Thanks.

Keep in mind too, when you go with a pistol grip and folding stock you have to play the parts count game. No more than 10 imported parts.

You'll need a G2 FCG from tapco, a US made slant brake for the muzzle, and two more US parts. A quick and dirty way is US mag plates and followers. A better way would be a US made gas piston, and a US made pistol grip OR US made handguards. A place called Ironwood Designs makes both.
