After cleaning my Mak I was reassembling the slide on the frame when I encountered resistance, and the slide stuck half way.
I then noticed that I had inadvertantly turned the decock lever on during cleaning.
I took the slide off, released the decock and then reassembled the slide on the frame.
I'm posting because I recall reading somewhere that a Mak slide should never be released with the decocker on. Although I wasn't releasing the slide by pulling back and letting go, but simply holding it while trying to put it back, I thought it best to check if any damage might have occured which could render the gun unsafe.
I carried out a function check and it seemed OK.
Could I have damaged the gun?
Would appreciate your comments.
