Due to the shortage of 22 mag ammo and its prices I am considering dumping my cz527 and focusing my shooting to strictly 223.I no longer hunt just a target plinker and an occasional coyote. Can anyone think of any advantage on keeping the mag over the cz 223? The price on the ammo ic close but 223 is available.

Just put the CZ away for now as the ammo shortage is likely to be temporary. If you do sell the CZ, will you get enough money out of it to really make a difference?

If you're going to sell the 452, wait a while. They've been discontinued and are widely regarded as superior to the 455 that supplanted them.

I retired by Jennings J-22 I'll probably retire my Mark I until 22 LR Reach reasonable prices. In the meantime I'll just shoot my 9mm, 38spl and 357.

The shortage of 22 Magnum ammunition in your area is regional. A LGS has had 22 Magnum rifle ammo in stock throughout all of 2013 and in the last month has started stocking Speer Gold Dot for short barrel handguns.

To answer your question there is a world of difference between the 22 Mag. and .223.
