I was smart and purchased a ruger charger the first time I saw one, should have bought two. want to pass one along to the kids/grandkids. (I'm keeping mine till I can't see anymore or they outlaw the 22lr cartridge altogether)
However, with the demise of the charger, and prices becoming astronomical for one - the logical next step becomes building your own.
I can find numerous places to purchase aftermarket 10/22 receivers, but I'm having a tougher time finding a place that I could order one registered as usable to make a charger. Do any of the aftermarket suppliers even make such a thing? I would think any company that makes the receivers would make a killing by also selling a receiver already registered as a SBR. despite the premium.
The SBR AR platform sure seems to be pretty hot anyway...
The other alternative is the form 1 and a tax stamp I guess and if that's the way it goes - then that is what happens.
Any idea of how long it takes to get that processed?
