I've done this before but a LONG time ago and just can't remember if the 9x19mm brass needs more than trimming and run through a 9mm Mak sizing die or if you have to trim the rim down for some reason. The Handloader's Guide to Cartridge Conversions says to swage the base but I don't recall ever doing that. Maybe? I lost the Lee trim gauge for Mak but it's still available or I can just shorten the 9x19 trimmer by 1mm. Might be easier to do that. Anybody currently converting Luger-to-Mak?

What gun are you using? For my CZ 82, I just size fired 9mm brass in a Mak die and then trim it. Seems to work well.

Loosing them in the weeds is why I use the 9mm brass that I culled out and won't reload for 9mm. The Mak is very forgiving in terms of what brass you feed it.

Bingo!! Mak ammo has gone through the sky and I got thousands of 9x19mm. Including lots of S&B and Fiocchi.

As best I remember just run it through the Mak die then trim off 1mm of length.
Resize then trim. Gotcha. I’ll try that and a 2.7gr load of Bullseye under a 100gr flat point. I have some .360” cast I got for .38S&W that ought to work out well if I keep the velocity under 1000fps.

My CZ 82 does pretty well with the brass but my P64 leaves a huge Glock smiley face on the brass due to an unsupported chamber. That's why I don't put my new Starline Mak brass in it. It's not safe to reload after shooting in the P64.

I did some over the past year. Now I’m seeing Norma brass so I may try that as reloadable cases. I can’t see buying starline new when so many get lost. I can usually make up losses with spent carry loads and brass cased new loads. Making brass is slow and tedious, but I always have a surplus of odd range pick up 9x19.

I use odd head stamps that I don’t load in 9x19 but do use in 9x18 (GFL, S&B, Hornady). Just resize and bell in the Makarov die. Then trim. I did find a surprise doing this a few months ago. There are S&B brass washed steel cases with boxer primers. I found one in the trimmer the hard way.

I did make a brass catcher for my range. I managed a 100% recovery on 60 rounds last week.
