Let's see......

American citizen......conspiring to assassinate the president....captured on foreign soil during a war........supporter of Al Qaeda.......

Forget locking him up.

Hang him...........and use pig intestines instead of rope.

Abu Ali faces six counts: conspiracy to provide material support and resources to Al Qaeda; providing material support to Al Qaeda; conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists; providing material support to terrorists; contribution of services to Al Qaeda; and receipt of funds and services from Al Qaeda.

It seems wierd to me that "providing material support to Al Qaeda" is a different charge than "providing material support to terrorists". Are there federal laws dealing specifically with Al Qaeda?

But I agree, IF this is true, throw the book at the mutt.

They might not be that wrong in this case. I wouldn't be suprised if a terrorist organization would have to be declared as such first (if nothing more to differentiate between aiding terrorists versus aiding paramilitary or revolutionary groups), so being specific as to the organization may be necessary.

I swear valedictorians are some screwed up people. I freaking hated my HS graduation ('03)... simply because of the valedictorian's speech. I'll admit my HS was a pretty liberal school (school clubs included: Gay-Straight Alliance, Students Against War (SAW, which I find amusing)). Man am I glad I'm out of there. :banghead:

Stupid valedictorian speech was all about anti-war/bush. Why couldn't a structual beam just fall on her? why? :cuss:

They should be charged with treason, and executed. Because this a real act of treason, not some crapy charge of treason as found in stallinist states.

That because the smart people who are number #1 sluff off after they get into college, law school, get a job etc.

Keep saying "religion of peace"

:banghead:

Is it true yet?

But ya'll just don't get it. He was mistreated as a child. His momma wouldn't let him have Frosted Flakes and all the other kids had Frosted Flakes. Then there was that big wheel incident. Next it was rejection by a girl. It is all part of a pattern. He is not to blame. Society is to blame. Ultimately you specifically are to blame. I haven't figured out how yet but rest assured it is YOUR fault. Abu Ali faces a maximum 80 year sentence lets hope he get every minute.

On 1210AM this morning, Michael Smerconish had on a Philly reporter who made an interesting point. No one is saying the name of the school at which he was a Valedictorian. According to the reporter (I'm trying to get links but Mike's web site isn't working this morning), he was Valedictorian of the Islamic Saudi Academy in VA, which happens to have a number of faculty who've been pinched for ties to groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Go figure.....

I wonder what kind of evidence we have on this guy? I hope we have some recordings of him conspiring to kill the President Bush.

These guy must not be very bright. There is no way you could ever just walk up and shoot the President of the US. I have seen President Bush on a couple of occasions and the security was mind boggling. He even drove right by my office. You wouldn't even believe how many Secret Service guys he has with him, probably at least 100. They even had a Suburban with what looked like a .50 mounted in the back. PLus they had a blackhawk and an apache flying overhead.

And then there was the Official Allegedly Hinted at Saudi Torture of Va. Man

I disagree. It would be relatively easy to kill the President, or any other person. It would be mind-bogglingly difficult to survive yourself, however.

Update

from google news-
heheh, sooo typical. the key witness, it has been discovered, was shot dead in a gunfight with police(in Saudi), in 2003, around the time guy was arrested, leaving with prosecutors very little.

the guy is being held in saudi. they dont want to prosecute him.

Still, I find it odd they had to torture him for 20 months in saudi arabia before he confessed and that the only evidence of his guilt is the confession.

You guys who just knee-jerk and say "yeah hang em high" are part of the reason our government gets away with this.

What would you confess to if the ATF sent you to syria or iran to be tortured for 20 months? I personally would be surprised if most of us lasted 20 months before confessing to whatever they wanted.

I have to disagree with this, and second what lwsimon said. I was working in downtown Milwaukee one day President Bill was in town to campaign for re-election. From my fifth-floor window, I could actually see him at the lectern, and my angle was such that the "bulletproof" shield in front of him wasn't between me and the crown of his head.

There wasn't any sort of security on my building even that day, much less the week prior; I could have snuck a rifle into the building without too much trouble. With one other person to keep my coworkers cowed, any competent marksman could have made the shot.

Given the legions of secret service, the chopper, snipers on surrounding roofs, and Lord alone knows how many other armed personnel in the area, he'd have better odds of hitting the lottery twice than surviving the event, but nothing could have stopped him from actually killing the president.

Since there are conflicting stories, I would say, find definate proof. If there is proof, then he needs to be hung, publicly, on 6 o'clock news, for treason.
Period. End of story.
