Why do you read it/reply to it?
I have no clue at this point, insanity perhaps...? :D

But let me ask you one more thing ...

Since the driver denied ownership of the container, such that he has implicitly given the officer the right to just snatch it out of his vehicle, then does that mean that the driver will not be criminally liable for any prohibited substance should such happen to be found in the container?

No ....? I didn't think so.

The driver would be prosecuted for "possession" of a prohibited substance, while his "non-ownership" of the container abrogated any 4th amendment rights that might have applied.

A logical contradiction. But heck, all is fair in love and the war on drugs, right?

I'm going to give up and go away now.

You don't know why the deputy reached into the vehicle. The article is written so it seems he was reaching for the container, but the driver could have put the car in gear and the deputy reached in to try to switch off the engine.

Several times, the deputy asked the man to slow down, but the man accelerated.
Reminds me of the SNL skit where T J Hooker is on the hood of the car for several days. Wonder why the deputy didn't shoot the driver? Or pepper spray? Guess he was using both hands to hold on?
