Usopp (aka Sogeking) is one of the main characters in the popular Manga/Anime series "One Piece".

He fights with a slingshot as his main weapon! The large one is called "Kabuto", and it has five strings of rubber.

Many kids asked me to build such a weapon, and I have hesitated for a long time. But recently I learned that "One Piece" is immensely successful, 250 million comic books have been sold, and it is the most successful Manga ever.

The Slingshot Channel can no longer ignore such a famous rubber based weapon, and therefore I have made a "Kabuto".

Green paint and gauze bandage wrapping, as in the original pictures. Made from 18mm Multiplex and an old broom stick.

The pouch looks kind of odd, but actually work pretty well.

I did add a steel spike (hardened the tip) so you can stick it into the earth for a better stance, and of course so the weapon can double as a spear.

It is tested as a slingshot, a throwing spear and a as a stabbing weapon. And guess what, it even has anti Zombie qualities!

The outcome was surprisingly good - the designers at One Piece have really invented a cool and effective weapon. Well done!

Here is the video:

Nice to see you enjoying yourself and playing around with a comic design.
I liked how you played around with the anti-zombie application. Very humorous!

Maybe you'll get a million orders for these?

I ain't selling my weapons, so I am not afraid of lawsuits really. After all, I am not even telling people how to make one.

Ok, that thing is very cool. Nice work!

As an aside, there were a couple of links to the anime by your vid; I got about 50 seconds through one of them. What an acid trip... the answer to a question nobody ever asked, like: "what would happen if we crossed the Beatles 'yellow submarine' with a 70's hong kong Kung Fu flick and mated that with adult swim?"

That is some odd stuff, right there.

It is true, I tried watching these animes too, and I haven't been able to suffer through more than about one minute. Hard to bear. I guess you have to be under 15 to understand the fascination it no doubts must have (they sold 260 million comic books, according to wikipedia).

Pretty cool. Can we now start importing weapons from Mahou Sensei Negima?

I want a giant satellite in orbit around Mars shaped like a cat that can precisely hit whatever is targeted by a laser designator also shaped like a cat.

I was never much of a One Piece, Naruto, or Bleach fan. Now Black Lagoon, Claymore, Victory Gundam, and Full Metal Panic are much more in my area and might have some appeal to other members here. 18 years old, and anxiously awaiting the conclusion of Mahou Sensei Negima.

*tips-his-hat*

Continuing to expand the fame of german ingenuity and accent :)
As always!

I am German, not Austrian. But as you say, we speak the same language - for us, the difference is very obvious, though.

Joerg I love your work with the slingshots. I can't tell you how much fun I always had with mine. Not to mention the looks my mom gave me sometimes. I occasionally hunted squirrels with one with some success when I couldn't get any .22 ammo.

I guess the only down side would be controlling the variables of 4 straps but who cares it looks cool and the effect is probably minimal.

As a graduate of the "Dennis The Menace" school of boyhood behavior, I can say that I'm glad that I did not have access to something like this sniper slingshot.

Can you imagine the arms race this would cause in a neighborhood of relatively intelligent and marginally bored hellions? Yikes!

Oh the fun that one would be. One of your best creations.....sure you don't want to sell these?

It was Joergs long list of videos, how to's, and info that really inspired me to start playing around with sling shots! When I finish my scratch built hunting crossbow I am going to build a Joerg inspired pump slingshot rifle very similar to his design but I am going to change it up a bit.
