I have spent a little bit of time over the last few weeks compiling and mapping Shooting areas (Ranges, Honey Holes, etc) as well as Gun Stores in the WA area.

The Map to the Shooting Area locator is:
WaGuns Range Map

The Map to the Gun Store locator is:
WaGuns Store Map

If any of you see a discrepancy or something I missed, let me know! Also, IF you feel like sharing your honey hole pit location, just send me GPS coords and I can put it in.

Nice; thanks!

Plantation Rifle range address needs to be changed to:

5102 Samish Way, Bellingham WA 98229

The address on the map is the parks dept. headquarters.

Does anyone have any details on how to get to the S. Big Lake Honey Hole near Mt. Vernon?

Also, anyone know of any honey holes in Whatcom County? There used to be some when I was a kid but they got run over by the suburbs.

Thanks for doing this WaGuns!

I realize that they're not technically in Washington, but Center Target (www.centertargetsports.com) just barely over the line in Post Falls, ID won best range in American twice this year; once at the shot show (sort of a big deal), and once again-getting the nod from the Glockers at GSSF. If you find yourself on the east side, it's worth the extra 20 minutes to poke your head in.

Not that anyone is confusing Idaho with Washington, of course. :)

I have gotten a few other ID requests and I think that it only makes sense! Spokane and Vancouver people frequently travel across the border. And ID and OR border stores, let me know and I will add them to the list.

BTW - I just added Center Target Sports!

The Lewiston Pistol Club has a private range out Lenville Road outside of Moscow just on the Idaho side. I don't know if you're including private ranges or not.

Hey, thank you SO MUCH! I was really wanting something like this. I think BLM should manage something like this too so that it doesn't surprise hikers and shooters would know of safe places to shoot. But you can't get that through to them. In the meantime though...

I use R15 at Ft. Lewis, it is a nice military range, 300m (that one could be in yards). Pistol and rifle, you can shoot slugs. Pretty basic, but nice and clean. $5-$10 per person I think ($5 for active duty, retired military) open Fri, Sat, Sun. They close for training sometimes and for a while during hunting season, so don't be shocked if you go and they are closed. Forget about calling MWR, they aren't related and will tell you that you can't use it as a civilian. This is false.

Then I am a member at Paul Bunyan. Really nice target shooting range. But limited to about 200m on average. Good, clean, 1940's era NRA range. Pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Nice setup, all firing lines covered. Cost is cheap; since I live close by I can go more often, and they are open 7am to 10pm 365 days a year, and you get your own gate code. They hold a lot of shooting events here too in summer. About $200 to join, about $100 per year to maintain membership. Not bad for what you get, especially if you can use it often.

Anyone know of a safe place to shoot up to, say, one mile? Or at least a few thousand yards? A safe field or clearing would be great, a range is out of the question, they don't cut 'em that long here save the army base. Looking for one somewhere near Spanaway or as close to it as possible. I'd like to shoot heavy steel plates at long ranges using a 6.5Grendel and a .338LapMag.

StrykerVet, do I understand correctly that the R15 range is open to non-military? What do you need to do to get in to it?

I'll have to check out Paul Bunyan. I'm not really satisfied with the Tacoma Sportsmen's Club...

I would say that unofficially R15 is open to Non-military. They never checked ID while I was there, you would just have to get there from 507 instead of through the base.

My favorite place to shoot was Bullseye. Every tuesday night was free to military so every Tuesday was range night. Also went home with lots of brass too.
