I know this is likely a dumb question, but, is there a market for non-reloadable brass? I'm starting to aquire quite a bit from shooting my Mosin collection. Do scrap metal dealers take it, would I have to remove the primers? Also, is there any use for Swiss GP11 brass at all? My thoughts are, with the price of metals going up every day, if I could get some revenue from the spent brass, I could put this towards some reloading equipment.
Good idea or bad idea?

From what I have been told, you can sell it for scrap with primers intact. I have almost five gallons of scrap brass I'm taking in before the weekend.

Sure, some guys reload GP11 brass. They either convert it to boxer or have their own stockpiles of berdan primers. Try selling it on swissrifles.com forums.

For more common calibers or surplus ammo with poorer quality brass you're probably gonna get scrap prices for it.

My local scrap guy will take empty brass cases as well as just the decapped primers. Brass is going for well over a dollar a pound in some areas. Worth the time to take it and recycle it.

$2 a lb here, if it's over 40lb's. I pick up everything, reload what I can, and buy powder with what I can't. There are some days that are so productive that I can't afford to NOT shoot. :)

I am that guy with berdan primers, and would love to buy your spent GP11 brass, if you have enough to make the shipping worth it.

I also reload 7.62x51 berdan primed cases depending on the headstamp.

With the price of bullets skyrocketing I have considered pulling my stash of 7.62x54r apart for the comonents, and resizing the bullets to 308. Pats Reloading supply is now selling that very thing.

If you have any interest in selling and shipping your berdan cases please let me know.

Thanks, Ron
