I'm once again trying to solve an issue via long distance calls and email. Let me know if anyone has any ideas on what may be causing this. I have my own Marlin 1894 here to look at, but don't actually have the problem rifle in front of me.
Gun is a pre-safety Marlin 1894 in .357 that has seen very little use. I don't think this sounds like the "dreaded Marlin jam" that is typically mentioned.
With a full magazine, the first round will often jam as it feeds into the chamber. Rounds 2 and 3 will not lift up on the carrier to be chambered. After this, the rest of the rounds feed fine. This happens with both .357 and .38 special, and is apparently fairly repeatable.
Basically, the gun has feeding issues with a full mag tube that go away when downloaded 3 rounds.
Any ideas?
