marlin 336 loading gate problem

hi everyone, i just got a new marlin 336w and have a slight problem, i cant load ammo into the gun because the loading gate wont open. It is because the carrier isn't going down all the way after pushing the bullet into firing position. anybody know how to fix this?? Thanks!:banghead:
