Can the Marlin lever action 444s with the 1 in 38" twist barrel shoot the 300 grain jacketed Hornady or Sierra bullets with good accuracy?
I see the newer models have a faster 1 in 20" barrel.
I used to own a 444 Marlin about 20 years ago but only fired the Remington factory 240 JSP and 265 JSP. Thought about getting a 444 again but would like to be able shoot up to 300 grains with decent accuracy as I do with my 44 revolver. I will be reloading this time if I go with one. I will keep the older used ones as an option if they will shoot the 300s well.
