Can the Marlin lever action 444s with the 1 in 38" twist barrel shoot the 300 grain jacketed Hornady or Sierra bullets with good accuracy?

I see the newer models have a faster 1 in 20" barrel.

I used to own a 444 Marlin about 20 years ago but only fired the Remington factory 240 JSP and 265 JSP. Thought about getting a 444 again but would like to be able shoot up to 300 grains with decent accuracy as I do with my 44 revolver. I will be reloading this time if I go with one. I will keep the older used ones as an option if they will shoot the 300s well.

Mine is a 1971, 24" rifle and with Micro groove. I cast an obsolete Lyman gas checked bullet from wheel weights that weighs 290 grains sized .431. Shoots very well in my rifle over Reloader 7. Hornady and Speer make a good jacketed bullet with loading data that should work in both twists. I'm not much for jacketed bullets in large bore rifles.

I shoot both the Hornady Light Mag 265gr FP and Buffalo Bore's 300gr FP (both jacketed) out of my 444 with good accuracy. It has a 22" Micro-groove bbl with 1 in 38" twist.
From what I've heard, the issue with the slower twist rate and micro-groove is that is does not stabilize cast bullets well unless you get slightly oversized bullets .431-.432" diameter seem to work well. Again, that's just what I've heard.
