Hello.
It has been a while since I last went shooting. I have been so caught up with everything, that I just put off shooting for several months now.
I felt like plinking, so I brought the old faithful, my Marlin 60 .22LR, and a box of Winchester Xpert. I found a 1/8 inch stainless steel plate a year or so ago that I have used to shooting, and set it up at 110 yards.
For some reason, the iron sites are messed up on my rifle, becuase the rear site points to the right. You have to press it over to the left until it is centered to get a good shot. However, when I did my part, I could easily hit the stainless steel plate 90 percent of the time, which was about 6x10 inches, at 110 yards. I never remembered being this accurate with this rifle, especially crappy open sites, and inexpensive ammunition.
It was also interesting hearing the pause between when the gun was fired, and when the bullet hit the plate.
BTW I tried this with my AR, but only got clean holes with little noise.
So, is this about average accuracy? What is everyones furthest reliable shot with open sites?
Thanks!
