The Marlin 60 is a poor design. They have never been known for reliability. Some are fine but many are not. The Remington ammo is some of the worst that you can find.

If you find a Model 60 that is reliable with this ammo it would be a miracle.

HUH? Got anything to back that up with or just spouting nonsense?

The only part of that statement that is true is that Remington ammo is some of the worst you can find. The rest of the post is utter nonsense.

What he said. :)

some 60's have come out , from the factory to be jammo matics, but it is rare, and is usually the fault of the 1st operator, using bad ammo, you know,

.....SUCH AS REMMY 22 AMMO!!! NEVER BUY REMMY 22 AMMO, EVER.

Have i said that allready? just get some hi speed , copper washed, fmj or solid points, about 500 of them, and let er rip.
As for hypers, a dude I know just bought a 795, and used hypers, and cracked
his buffer in the first 5 rounds. Don't use hypers, it will be on your head.

My Model 60 SS digests anything I put in it. I shoot Remington Thunderbolt the most, since its cheap and readily available, albeit a bit dirty. I shoot Yellow Jackets a bit, too. Mainly for the explosive effects on soda cans. For a reliable plinker, the Model 60 is a timeless classic. It's more reliable than any of the 10/22s I've ever owned or shot.
