Im in the market in 2 weeks to buy a .22lr bolt action also, With my choice between the MKII FV/BV and the CZ 452 if money allows.
This may be an interesting read about my conversation with the guys at rimfirecentral.com about which i should go for and the differences and if the Savage being half the price be possibly good enough to hang with the much more expensive CZ.

I own a Savage 93BTV17 .17HMR which is a pure joy to shoot and more accurate than ill ever be. The trigger from the factory is amazing at 2.5lb of crisp no pretravel pull.
You can even shorten the trigger spring and mine is pulling at a guesstimated 1.3lbs now.

Between those 2 guns the Savage hands down.
But i dont know your money situation, But at $450-$500 the CZ is an awesome very high quality gun with amazing accuracy possibly rivaling the Savage, But they are close.

I've got a Marlin but not the 880. Marlins are fine guns, but the Savage would win for me because of the Accutrigger and gun diversity. I don't have a Savage, therefore I would require one.
It took me 10 hours of work and ingenuity to get my Ruger MKIII 22/45's trigger to the same point of 10 minutes of work and a spring clip to get 1.3lb's of pull my Savage accutrigger has.
And your right they have a model for everyone, From $200 and basic too $500 and tricked out as heck. The thing is tho its all looks as the $200 gun will shoot exactly like the $500 one will. So your not compromising on quality and accuracy when you even buy a basic model.

My trusted Marlin 880 SQ for 11 yrs . Got this pesky bird at 12 yds away from pooping regularly on my car's hood. This was bought at Walmart for $200 plus tax in 1999. 3/4 inc group at 50 yds with regularity even on bulk ammo.

I notice Savage uses a banana type magazine. Kind of funky in looks.

That is the 10 round mag, they have a 5 round that is almost flush and better for the field. I use the 10 when plinking.
