Marlin locking bolt grease?

Does your manual mention this?
It may be like the lube that Glock uses on their slide that is intended to remain on the slide until it wears away on it’s own.

I haven't seen anything in the manual that mentions it. I just wondered if anyone else has seen this on the newer Marlins, CSBL etc.

Is it like a grease, or like paint....hard to tell from pics.

If grease I can see that....one does not know how long something will sit in a warehouse and what kind of climate control if any it is in......if more like paint and like like some kind of lube or metal protecting goop it might be something like marking blue....not sure.

I would use "dry lube". Grease traps particulate matter which I would assume to be detrimental.
