I attempted a trigger job on a Marlin Mod 83 this evening with my new set of Arkansas stones. I was ever so careful and did not change the geometry on any part. I assembled and had a stiffer trigger than before. I did take a 3/4 turn off the trigger spring to help things later down the road after. I'm thinking i took the sear and trigger surfaces and stoned them flat, as they weren't before (Very uneven surface and poorly finished). so now the mating surfaces actually have more resistance from the newly increased surface area. Is this a common problem when stoning trigger parts?
