I ran across this add in a local forum that read. "Marlin Model 25R .22LR bolt action, with micro-groove barrel. SWEET little shooter that is seriously accurate, comes with one mag. $125."

I have never owned a 22, and do not know much about them. Can any of you educate me on this model, and do you think it is a good buy? The photo of it looks real nice.

Here's the Serial# 075798xx

Thank you.

From the serial number it was mfg. in 1993, 100-07 = 93. From all accounts I have heard that it is an accurate and reliable rifle. Take a look at the Marlin forum at Rimfire Central, they have plenty of experience with these. I was looking at a mid 80's 25 last week that was in good condition but missing the sling swivels for $85.

I've got a Marlin Model 25NM(.22 magnum) that is a tackdriver with the right ammo.

Marlin 22's are known for quality and accuracy. GIT-U-1.
