I was cleaning out an old milkhouse on my grandparents farm when I came across a .22 barrel and action. Once the rust was cleaned off it I could read Marlin Model 50 autoloader. I later found the stock and magazine in another part and cleaned it up and assembled it. It seems to work ok, but I am curious about the gun. I can't find it listed in Blue Book and google did not turn up much for me and neither did a search of THR. It's a different type of autoloader as it fires from an open bolt. I did find one like it on gunbroker and put link to the auction so you can see what it looks like. Does anyone know anything about these guns?

Thanks

MARLIN MODEL 50

DID YOU EVER FIND ANYTHING OUT ABOUT THE MODEL 50?
IS THERE SOME WAY I CAN GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU?
I HAVE SOME INFO.

THANKS

just put this question to the boys over at rimfirecentral. this is a very rare weapon, with the magazines being even more rare. A few companies made open bolt 22's, because they are cheap to make , with less bolt parts. but none really caught on. winny made a version, remmy, voere, thompson, and marlin. Each made a few, and that was about it. Sounds like you have a super keeper there.
