hi i just picked up a marlin model 60. i would like to remove the front sight. i have removed the screw and cant figure out how to remove the sight. it looks like it should drift out but im not sure. hope someone can help.

thanks butcherboy.

Mine came with a one piece front sight made out of some sort of nylon/plastic material.
The blade could not be drifted off the base.
I replaced it with a Willims front sight base & blade HTH

let me rephrase my question: im trying to remove the front sight base from the barrel. i already removed the screw. thanks. butcherboy

it's just glued on, just whack it sideways with something like wood, no need to be gentle but make sure you don't scratch the barrel. Just a little sideways thump and problem solved. :)

Yep Marlin uses a type of Loc-Tite to secure the sight. A little thump will pop it right off once you remove that screw. HTh
