Marlin Model 60ss?

Got my regular blued version of the 60 for $159 from Bass Pro a few weeks back....I looked at the SS model, but I just couldn't justify the extra money for it. But $191 at Buds is a pretty good price.

Had one with the carbon fiber looking stock. The guts are still pot metal. Reliability was ok. Bulk ammo gave me a couple of jams but nothing terrible. Trigger was awful (you can upgrade). It taught me that I hate tube fed guns with the tube in the front (on the other hand if they made it like a full size lever action with the side loading gate, I'd be all over it).

Wheres the pot metal?

The barrel, action, firing pin, feed ramp etc are all steel.
To the untrained eye, the 60SS's pewter looking plastic may look like "pot metal", but its plastic as we mentioned.

..and my trigger is smooooooth, fast , easy. I can fire it faster than some can bumpfire.
