"Marlin Model 75 Semi Auto Rifle in 22 Long Rifle with 4x Scope. This Rifle is a older one made in 1975, it has a half Magazine Tube & Sling Swivels. We have Test Fired this & it Shoots Great! There are Minor spots of white paint on the stock that will clean off, The Blueing is Excellent. Pretty Cheap!!!"

My girlfriend wants to get a cheap 22 I was giving consideration to the one above for $65. Any advice she just wants something cheap to as she puts it, "beat the hell out of it". I was considering a romanian trainer at Sog.

Thanks

Jeff

I looked it up last night and I can honestly say I've never seen one.

Generally, when I hear autoloading .22 and inexpensive in the same sentence I get very nervous. Why? Just because they have too many moving parts that all have to work correctly.

The Romanians have a great reputation, but if it's going to be her gun then what the heck, let her pick. What's 65 bucks, right?

I have a Marlin Model 75C

That I purchased used in June. It was manufactured in the mid 70's and has the tube mag with a capacity of about 14 with walnut stock. AFAIK, today it's called the Model 60. It's a sweet little shooter that is very accurate! Your GF will enjoy.

If I'm not mistaken, the Model 75 was a Glenfield. Its the same as a Marlin model 60. One of the best selling .22 semi-autos ever. I have a Model 60. A friend has a Glenfield 75. The only difference is the length of the mag tube.
If it is the Glenfield, you have a good rifle. My 60 with a 4X scope shoots .75" with its favorite ammo (5 shot groups at 50yds.).
Look up a Model 60 on gunbroker or at the Marlin website to see if its the same rifle.

I have a Marlin model 75. Got it in a package deal with a couple other guns. It was in pieces when I got it. Took it home and found some screws to put it together. I am really surprised at how accurate and fun this little gun is! Very good little rimfire for little money. Go for it!
If you need instructions on disassembly, do a search on the High Road for a model 60. They are very similar.
Enjoy.
