Why doesn't Marlin have a take-down version of their 336? Anyone have any inside info/insight? Does the Marlin action make a take-down version too difficult/costly to make? I'd love one in 30-30 (or a take-down 1894c in .357), but don't need a custom/premium version -- like the beautiful "Co-Pilot" examples from WildWestGuns...
Any hope they'll release a take-down version in the next few years?
I know Winchester just announced a couple of new take-down versions of the '94 Timber Scout and the Short Hunter. But I'm really happy with my 1894c and would like to stick to Marlin (plus, who knows what Winchester availability/quality will be like after USRAC's recent announcement about stopping production).
Thanks for your opinions
