To be honest, I haven't seen a can of Kroil anywhere for at least 15 years. Where do you find it?

Anyway, I found a jug of Marvel Mystery and am using it for my post-moly cleaning and it seems to work fine. Pulls out black, more black, after Break*Free oil or Powder Blast or Sweets is pulling lighter gray on the patches.

Are MM and K similar enough for Moly, or is the Kroil noticeably better?

Grump,

You are the only person besides myself that I know who uses Marvel's. I use it as a c.l.p. and have never had any rust or problems through thousands of rounds. It has never hurt any finish on any gun, wood included. Most people look at me funny when I tell them that's what I use.

kroil

rangemasters gun shop in lebanon or. sells kroil in little cans to gallon size cans. you can reach them by phone. call information for number

Thanks, all for the contact/ordering info for Kroil.

How about this question, before I go off and buy ANOTHER jug of smelly liquid for the gunbench:

Are MM and K similar enough for cleaning up after Moly, or is the Kroil noticeably better?

Marvel Mystery Oil is a good product. It will bring the life back to air tools like your impact wrench.I like Kroil for firearms tho.Seems to get things unstuck and removes alot of crud most other solvents wont.

Thread drift:

To me, Marvel's smells reminiscent of some sorta non-chocolate candy. Peppermint maybe?

Sure am glad I no longer have infants in the house...
