My son came home with an IWI Masada 9mm last week. I was baby sitting his young ones and it was late in the day so I just gave it a brief fondling. It felt really good in my hand, pointed right on the money and had a nice trigger. However on my nightstand or end table next to my recliner you will find a Glock 17. When I shot competitively I used a FNS-9. I have owned a Canick or two and they were great guns. They just didn't do anything that my Glock or FN wouldn't do.
Yesterday I helped myself to my son's Masada and a box of Magtech 115 grain hard noses. The mag was stiffer loading than the Glock or FN but that's trivial. 17 rounds in the mag and one in the pipe and we were ready to go. I was shooting at 4 inch plates that flip to the other side of the pole when hit and the distance was 32 feet. The tree has six total plates. I started at the top and hit/ spun every plate going down the tree. Then I hit and spun every plate going back up the tree then repeated a string of 6 hits going back down. 18 rounds fired and18 hits in less than 30 seconds. I have accomplished 18 straight with a 1911 before but never with a striker fired pistol. I was kinda stoked but anyone can get lucky once so I gave it another go. I missed one plate on the second go around and two plates the third try. That's still just three total misses out of 54 rounds at a 4 inch plate at 32 feet. That is better than I have ever done before by about 3 plates.
These guns are made in Israel on state of the art equipment and are suppose to be military grade durable. What's not to like?
My birthday is a week away and ever since the last kid jumped out of the nest 17 years ago my wife and I have bought our own birthday presents. My wife got a new bicycle with an old lady seat for her birthday. Guess what I'm getting?

Had an opportunity to fire a friends Masada Tactical today. Nice gun, shot well, great design and ergos. Definitely one to consider. The only downside for me is the trigger safety. After only two mags it was a little rough on the trigger finger. No worse than a Glock though.

I didn’t know anything about these guns so I had to see if any were at Midway. The price is surprising to me. Might be something I try one day.
