I will be a resident of this ________ (fill your favorite adjective here) state for a while, but I would like to continue shooting.

While I sort out the carry license procedures and classes, i am looking for gun ranges that would let people without LTC A/B to rent a gun and shoot. One such place is the BostonGunRange in worcester, but it is a bit inconvenient for me in terms of frequent trips (I live in Cambridge).

the other two ranges that are accessible by public transportation (braintree pistol club and Boston gun and Rifle association) require LTC A/B to even consider thinking about making you a member. forget about walking in there and renting something or other (as far as I understand). I do not know any members of these "elite" places, so that seems to be a dead end.

does anyone know of decent gun ranges in the boston greater area that are a bit more liberal in letting people rent/shoot. even if it were not in the boston area I would still like to know about it.

any help/advice is appreciated. Until I fugure this out, I would have to do with bb/AirSoft guns :(

I miss Texas...........

Thanks,

Alexi

cambridge eh? going to school up there?

Yep, Cambridge it is. Not-quite going to school as in pursuing a degree since I have them all stacked-up. I am a post-doc, which is still a "training position" and not a real job.

i know there is nothing in the Cambridge area, but i do not know abut the neighbouring towns.

I have found lists of Mass ranges but since many of them do not have web pages, I have no idea waht their policies are. I could start calling them, but I tought I'd save me some time and ask here first.

i live in arlington and my mother has a membership at wouburn sportsmans you might want to check that out when you get your ltc finalized its not that far away.

You need to join NorthEastShooters,

www.northeastshooters.com

This is a New England-based firearms board and someone should be able to help you out.

Cambridge, eh? Join NES, at least you will get some sympathy from the rest of us.

And I did :) The place looks great and answers many of my MA related issues. It also makes me seriously question my decission to stay in Cambridge in particular.........but you probabbly knew that :)

Your best bet is Manchester Firing Line in Manchester, NH.

Straight up 93, should take you about the same amount of time as going to Worcester. Jim has machine guns to rent also.
