I shot the monthly three gun match yesterday and as usual came up short on the rifle stage. I'm shooting a Colt 6731 16" HBAR and the trigger is quite stiff. I think I could improve my scores a bit if I switched to a better trigger.

One problem...my Colt has large pins. Do most of the match triggers ( RRA, Geiselle, Timney, etc) make triggers for large pin receivers? Also, I've heard that some Colt receivers require some modification of the receiver to accept national match triggers. Can anyone fill me in on what mod might be required?

Any suggestions as to which triggers?

Thanks

Check out a Brownells catalog for all the available replacement triggers available for the AR15. I own two AR's, an original Colt Hbar and a HB DPMS target/varmint rifle. Both had trigger pulls in the 10-12 lb range and it made a shooting session uncomfortable for finger pull stress plus not counting the effect on accuracy. To cut to the chase, I replaced both triggers with a Chip Mccormick drop in trigger assembly. Both were single stage trigger breaking at little over 21/2 lbs. The triggers were on the expensive side, but well worth it for a greatly improved trigger pull and increasd accuracy.Certainly not sorry in their purchase and I highly reccomend Chip McCormick triggers. Another great feature is that I can remove them and install the original parts if desired. :)
