I have a little Czechoslovakian 22lr revolver, with an alloy frame painted black.

I little bit of the finish has chipped off the crane where it rests on the bottom of the frame when the cylinder is opened.

If I were back in the UK, or in the States, I would touch it up with a Birchwood Casey pen, but here I can't get anything like that.

Do you think the kind of enamel paint used on models would suffice?

Problem solved. Been to a model shop, and the bloke behind the counter told me I needed epoxy paint from an auto shop.

Auto shop epoxy?
Well, thats gonna be a big expensive mess just to do a tiny little touch-up on the crane.

Have you thought about just using a black Magic-Marker pen on it occasionally?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't know what a black magic marker is. Does it use paint or some kind of ink?

Is it anything like a permanent white board marker or laundry marker? I can get either of those here.

Yep!
Magic Marker is the generic name here in the states for a permanent ink marker.
Sometimes called a Marks-A-Lot pen.
