Is anybody familiar with these? Its one of my more recent C&R toys, and it appears to be in good condition.

I took it to the range today, and had consistent feeding problems. It went boom every time, and ejected the spent casings just fine too. But several times it "stovepiped" the fresh round. The bullet was sticking out of the ejection port and groove on the back of the case was still trapped between the magazine lips. The problem happened with Wolf round nose FMJs, and my own HP reloads with Hornady XTPs.

Do I just need a new magazine? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Seems like a feed lip adjustment would be all that is necessary.
I'm not real familiar with the Mauser 1914 magazine design, but assume the feed lips need bending in at the front slightly to maintain control of the round long enough to get it started into the chamber.

Your chances of finding a factory original magazine in good condition better then the one you have, is very slim.

I wouldn't even waste my money on an after-market Triple-K mag if I had an original to work with.

Thank you rcmodel,

The front part of the feed lips are flared out compared to the back, but it is so gradual and symmetrically formed it looked like it could be by design intent. I checked, and all of my other autos have uniform lips front to back.

I will try to gently bend them back in to match the back with a good flat nose smooth jaw plier.

Even with this problem, other toys made it a great day at the range!

Could be the magazine spring too. get a new mag spring to lift the round up in front of slide agressiveley, sounds like slide is not pushing cartridge base but top of cartridge till it pops out of mag in upright position. Try wolf springs, and magazine of about same capicity and size will probably fit if 1914 isn't listed specifically.
