Hello,
We have recently aquired a Mauser 98. We know this because the ring diameter is what it should be. However what kind of Mauser 98 is when the line starts to blur. There is no stamp whatsoever on the receiver ring. The barrel was a little bit shorter than 24". The rear sight is adjustable, out to 2000 yards. The front sight is non-hooded. The serial number on the left side of the action is 98 29 2P, but it was crossed out and the number written above it is 1551. The serial number on the left side of the barrel is 98 29 2P which matches the receiver, sort of. Another serial number that wraps around the barrel by the ring of the receiver is 152. The stamp on the right side of the receiver is a Z with a circle around it. The barrel has the same stamp on the right side of it
