Mauser Bayonet Question

I have a Model 1898/05 Bayonet, 2nd pattern (without saw back). I finally gave in and bought a reproduction frog for it. It's actually quite nice, but I have a stoopid question...how do I get the hook on the scabbard through the hole?

Does the hook unscrew?

If its anything like my 1907 Enfield bayonett you just have to work with the frog until it loosens up a bit. Both my P08 and P37 frogs were really tight at first but I worked them in. Just be gentle so as not to break the scabbard.

You just work it through the hole like RC said. The hook faces down and the frog is pulled up from the bottom. The tip should fit into the hole and then the rest of the hook should be pushed into place.
