Mauser target/sniper
Back in 2010 I glommed a Yugo 24/47 Mauser that had a cheap Bushnell "Sportview" scope and a .308 heavy barrel. I got busy and never got around to shooting it until today.

The scope mounting is messed up somehow...with the reticle adjusted all the way down, the rifle still shoots about 18" high @ 50 yards. It may be an illusion, but the scope appears to be lower in front than back...almost like the rear ring is higher than the front.
At any rate, the rifle appears to shoot fairly well, given the limitations of the scope, etc.
I fired three 150 grain Federal Powr-shoks (the three on the right), then adjusted the rear screws of the base and fired one more Powr-shok. Then 5 Federal GMM matches that all landed in the single square. Bear in mind that I was shooting at 50 yards and at an orange target spot that was about 18" below the point of impact, with the scope adjusted as low as it would go.
I plan on getting a better scope and a new set of rings. Any other ideas?
Thanks
