I got one of these in a sporter stock for $250. I then bought an original stock for it that came with everything except that piece of wood that goes on top of it. My question is this: will any K98/G98 hand guard work, or will I need an original handguard from a G33/40? Maybe a VZ24 or a VZ33 stock?
Also, any advice on safely removing the front sight hood without breaking it? My carbine comes with an original G33/40 hood, and I wouldn't want to break something worth $200+.
